Zulema V. Flores passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery, Hale Center, Texas.

Zulema Vasquez Flores was born on December 21, 1935, to Aladin and Maria Vasquez. Zulema married the love of her life, Valentin Flores, Jr. in May 1953, in Eagle Pass, Texas.  Together, they had 14 children over 30 years of marriage. She was a loving mom, wife, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She enjoyed her family and loved to cook for them. Tamales and Pan Dulce were some of her favorite dishes. She would get all dressed up to visit the children and their families, she loved her grandchildren.

Traveling, fishing and the outdoors were some of her favorite activities.  Zulema was a Cowboys fan; she would watch their football games the whole season. Novellas, a Spanish soap opera, brought her joy.

Zulema is preceded by her Parents, Aladin Vasquez and Maria Del Rufujio Salamon, three of her sons, Santiago Flores, Alejandro Flores, and Raul Flores, two sons-in-law, Aurilano Salas, Larry Ozbirn, granddaughter Diana Flores, great-grandson, Bailey Settle.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Guadalupe and Conchita Flores of Hale Center, TX, Sonia Garcia of Hale Center, TX, Valentin and Josephina Flores of Brownfield, TX, Isabel Salas of Hale Center, TX , Rogelio and Anita Flores of Hale Center, TX,  Mike Flores of Hale Center, TX, Oscar Flores of Hale Center, TX, Sara and Alfred Jimenez of Levelland, TX,  Josie and Arnie Martinez of Hale Center, TX, Zulema Rojas of Hale Center, TX, Angelica Ozbirn of Oklahoma.  Daughter- in-law, Francis Flores.  48 grandchildren, 109 great-grandchildren, 53 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
