William McMickings Sr., 71, of Plainview passed away May 27, 2016, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31 at the Plainview Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Bartley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 30. Bill McMickings was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Talladega, Ala., and married Sandra Massey on May 31, 1968, in Happy, Texas. Bill came to Plainview in 1956 and worked as a maintenance supervisor for 26 years. He also served in the Army for 11 years and did three tours in Vietnam. McMickings was also affiliated with the Plainview Bowling Center. Survivors include wife Sandra; daughter Patricia and Jose Garces of Plainview; daughter Amanda Muniz and Larry Muniz of San Angelo; son William McMickings Jr. and wife Deliza of Plainview; son John McMickings of Plainview, sister Sue and Tommy McDonald of Wolfforth; brother Gregory and Pam Patterson of Leeds Ala. McMickings also had 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William McMickings Jr., Jose Garces, Larry Muniz, Jarred Garces, Savannah Garces and Paul Koen.
