Weldon "Dewayne" Gibson Jr., of Plainview, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his sisters' home in Plainview, TX. A memorial service will be held at First Assembly of God on December 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

Dewayne was born on March 24, 1956 in Plainview, Texas to Weldon and Shirley (Burris) Gibson. He was quite the artist and tried to find the beauty in everything. He enjoyed people and loved his family dearly. His last wishes were that those who had known him in years past would know that he was very remorseful for his unruly mistakes. Dewayne found peace with himself and most of all with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his sisters; Patricia McCain and husband, Gregg, of Plainview, TX, Cora Bankston and husband, Ilan, of San Antonio, TX, and Sammie Gibson of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Stephanie Gibson of Vanceburg, Kentucky, brothers; Dennis Gibson and wife, Sandy, of Paris, TX and Tim Gibson of Seminole, TX. Former wife, Shirley Brashears of Plainview,TX,  and a step-daughter, Janelle Brown of Plainview, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Sabrina Gibson, and brother in law; Dennis Couch.
