Warren R. Hingst, 78 of Plainview, went to be with his Lord on July 8, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Gerald Boerger officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Warren was born April 12, 1934 in Orange Grove, TX to Robert and Meta Hingst. He married Betty Spaulding December 26, 1966 in Plainview. After serving in the military he came back to Plainview and started building houses with Swayze Brothers in 1954. He later became a very well respected individual builder himself. In 1969, he then began working with what is now Cargill for nearly three decades as a building superintendent/engineer. Warren retired from Cargill in 1999 and loved going to his "hobby place" to farm and raise a few cows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Meta Hingst, two brothers, Lawrence and Orion Hingst. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hingst of Plainview; one siter Earline Lindig of Bandera, TX; one son, Chris Hingst and wife Holly of St Francis, KS; two daughters, Heidi Kuehn and husband Tim of Lubbock, TX and Kim Terrell of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren, Melissa Burns and husband Alan, T.J. Terrell and wife Kendra, Maggie Grace Hingst, Keegan Carl Kuehn, Hayden Warren Hingst and Karter Warren Kuehn; two great grandchildren, Jillian Burns and Brandon Burns.
