Funeral services for Virginia Woods, 80 of Plainview will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Woods died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Plainview. Virginia was born in Plainview to Romie Fennell, Sr. and Vivian Rena Owens on January 25, 1934. She graduated from Booker T. Washington school and received her nursing licenses while attending Prairie View. She married Norman Woods on September 17, 1956 in Plainview. She was employed as a nurse for 56 years at several medical facilities before retiring in 2006 from Hi Plains Hospital, Hale Center. She then worked for Early Childhood Intervention until earlier this year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; a daughter Catherine Rosborough; a son, Kevin; a grandson, Jeffrey; her parents, Romie Sr. and Vivian; two brothers, Romey and Roy Ray; two sisters Gurtha and Clovis.

She is survived and will be missed truly by 2 sons, Robert Woods of Plainview and Eric (LaTosha) Woods of Midland and a daughter, Yolanda Brazier of Plainview; 14 grandchildren, Brian Brazier (Rochelle), Chris Brazier Sr., Joel Rosborough, Stephanie Lawson (Sandie), Brandon (Yvonne), Jefrye, Krystofer, Morgan Rosborough, Alexis, Rayha, Dezerae, Cami and Kevin; 19 great-grandchildren, 8 boys and 11 girls, Sharell, Shalore, Bria, Colexi, Brooklynn, Kamyrn, Genesis, Jerze, Jazmine, Jesika and Julianna; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Carolyn Thompson (Girlon), Birdie Owens of Plainview, Qullar Westmoreland, Long Beach, CA; 1 brother, Bill Fennell (Debra), Austin; 3 sisters-in-law Clarece Fennell, Berlene Green and Francis Woods and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
