It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Medina, 64, on June 19, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, Texas. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at The Potters House in Plainview. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home.
Victor was born on November 13, 1960, in Plainview, Texas to Victor Rodriguez and Rosa Martinez. He married the love of his life, Blanca DeLuna, in July of 1977.
Throughout his career, Victor embraced a diverse range of roles that showcased his versatility and dedication. With a decade of experience at Coca-Cola, followed by an impressive 27 years at Walmart Distribution, he demonstrated unwavering commitment and work ethic. His journey also included 20 fulfilling years as a bus driver for the Plainview Independent School District and 5 years as a correctional officer, showcasing his ability to thrive in various environments. Additionally, he spent 5 years as a Print and Purchasing Manager at Methodist Hospital.
Victor was a dedicated individual known for his positive attitude and charisma. He cherished family visits to Mexico and was an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed boating on the lake and the thrill of shooting firearms. His vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He was especially loved for his affection towards his grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
As a good father, Victor took care of his family and created memorable outings at the lake while the kids were growing up. From boat rides and tubing, where he would playfully throw them off, to sharing scary stories around the campfire, those moments were truly special. He had a passion for grilling while enjoying a cigar, always in high spirits. Boxing and football were his two favorite sports, reflecting his vibrant personality and humor.
Known as a hard worker, Victor handled every situation with grace, never complaining and always maintaining a positive attitude toward everyone. He loved grilling on the patio with his wife, and his warmth and love for others made him deeply cherished by those who knew him. This was especially evident when he opened champagne on New Year's Eve, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Blanca Medina; his mother, Rosa Martinez; one son, Victor Jr. Medina; three daughters, Elisa Medina, Yuri Medina, and Blanca Isela Medina all of Plainview, TX; six brothers and 3 sisters, Robert and Rosanna Rodriquez of Hoffman Estates, IL, Raul Rodriquez of Lubbock, TX, Rosa Hernandez of San Antonio, TX, Yesenia Pardo of Plainview, TX, Isaias Martinez Jr., of New Braunfels, TX, Catalina "Cathy" Martinez of New Braunfels, TX, Omar Martinez of Plainview, TX, Johnny Martinez of Plainview, TX, and Albert and Melissa Martinez of Carrollton, TX; his ten grandchildren, Alexandria Gomez, Jahziel Rodríguez, Aria Gomez, Ava Gomez, Kaiden Maldonado, Aiden Gomez, Marcus Reyna, Alessandra Falcon, Layah Dittman, and Caden Dittman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Isaias Martinez; and his grandmother, Catalina Regallado.
