Tory "Tj"
Mcauley
April 26, 1963 – November 25, 2024
Tory "TJ" McAuley entered eternal rest on November 25th, 2024 at the age of 61, a lifelong resident of Shallowater, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues throughout the years showed faith in God and courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, TJ never met a person he didn't befriend, a challenge too great, or a life he didn't impact.
TJ met the love of his life, Kim, in the Fall of 1985 and were married on February 14, 1986. It was love at first sight, and she was his rock. She supported him as he was diagnosed with cancer at a young age, his business efforts, and the raising of two children, Sean and Kasie.
TJ joined the Lubbock Police Department August 1st, 1988 serving honorably for over 21 years and retired September 30th, 2009. Although his body began to fail, TJ continued to make an impact on those around him. Serving as a leader in local church fellowship retreats and announcer for the Friday night football games, there is not a person in Shallowater that didn't know TJ. He served as a SPAG instructor for numerous years, was a substitute teacher at Shallowater and Frenship High Schools, a member of Shallowater City Council and served as a Municipal Court Judge for 24 years. He was honored to serve the cities of Shallowater, Tahoka, Slaton, Ropes, O'Donnell, and Wilson, Texas.
TJ is proceeded in death by his brother, Tony, his father, LaVon, and his mother Patricia.
He is survived by his wife, Kim. His sisters, Tammy and Tonya McAuley. His son, Sean. His daughter, Kasie, her husband Daniel Baker and two granddaughters, Kinley and Ellie along with a multitude of family and friends.
TJ will be honored at First Baptist Church in Shallowater 703 Ave J Shallowater Texas, for a celebration of life on December 2nd, 2024 at 2pm. Visitation will take place at 1pm, at FBC Shallowater. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
