Memorial services for Thelma Louise Alford Tapp, 85 of Plainview will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with David Milstead officiating. Per her request her body will be donated to Texas Tech School of Medicine. A viewing of her body will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 2. Thelma died December 29, 2014 in Plainview. She was born on January 11, 1929 in Dalhart, Texas to William Sion and Gertrude Garrison Alford. She married James Deryl Tapp on June 1, 1945 in Lubbock. She lived in Plainview since 1960 coming from Lubbock. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Thelma loved the Lord and shared him with as many people as she could. She is survived by her husband, Deryl Tapp of Plainview; 3 daughters, Sue McClaran of Farwell, TX, Jan Gattis and husband Homer of Hesston, KS and Carol Kaufman and husband Randy of Plainview; 2 brothers, Carl Alford and wife Johnnie of Hereford and John Alford of Grandbury, TX; 2 sisters, Marie Thompson and Juanita Reed both of Lubbock; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
