Funeral services for Sylvia Alvarado Ponce, 76 of Plainview will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 19, 2012 at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. She died on Monday January 16, 2012 in Plainview. She was born on December 23, 1935 in Laredo, TX to Mary Gonzales and Rafael Alvarado. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviors include four sons, Benito Ponce of Minneapolis, MN, Robert Ponce of St. Paul, MN, Mike Ponce and David Ponce both of Plainview; nine daughters, Rosa Vallegio of Florida, Ralphlita Ortega and Reyna Ponce both of St. Paul, MN, Sophia Ponce of Mankato, MN, Mary Ponce, Cruz Ponce, Cookie Ponce, Vicky Ponce DeCiga and Elena Ponce Gomez all of Plainivew; 32 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
