January 28, 1961 – November 10, 2025
Soila Fierro, 64, of Plainview, passed away and entered heaven's gates on November 10, 2025. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. A Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Plainview First Assembly of God with Pastor Joe Silva officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Services are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview, TX.
Soila grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Plainview, she was known for her exceptional intelligence and warm spirit. She attended Wayland Baptist University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and was actively pursuing her Master's. Despite rarely needing to study, Soila consistently excelled in her college courses. As a dedicated bilingual educator, she taught elementary school with extraordinary care, patience, and compassion. She also served as a referee for Plainview High School football, demonstrating her commitment to her community. Her family cherished her affectionate and loving nature. Soila had a fondness for hamburgers, chocolate, and Coca-Cola. Exceptionally athletic, she was an outstanding softball player. Beyond sports, she was a talented musician, singer, and guitarist, and played piano, bass, clarinet, and flute. Soila led the Fierro family gospel group, sharing her heartfelt faith and angelic voice. She enjoyed traveling, resting, and taking naps. Soila will be remembered for her infectious joy, keen intellect, boundless kindness, and remarkable talents.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Alejandra "Alex" Fierro; her brother; Richard Fierro and wife, Esmeralda, of Amarillo; her sisters, Cruz "Bobbie" Fierro, of Plainview, Nancy "Babe" Hernandez and husband, Edward of Plainview, and Jackie Andrus and husband, Craig, of Kress; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Soila is preceded in death by her parents, Catalina and Maclovio "Mac" Fierro; her nephew, Mikeal Fierro.
