Shirley Ann Maxwell Cookston flew to heaven a shouting at 8:25 am, March 9, 2023.
Shirley was born on February 15, 1936, in Velma Oklahoma to Ivan and Ruby Maxwell. She was raised in California and Hext, Oklahoma. She was married to Billy Joe Cookston on June 9, 1950. They had 3 children, Sue Stoker, Lynda Long, and Joe Cookston. She had 7 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She loved to quilt and cook and bake for her family. She loved her family very much. She loved family reunions, any family get togethers. She was a very Godly woman and loved the Lord. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her Daughter, Sue Stoker; her Son Joe Cookston; Grandchildren: Christie Danforth, Dondi Long, Deidra and Adam Newberry, DeAndra Long and Eric Ward; Great-Grandchildren: Joey Ambrose, Emily Ambrose, Joshua Long and Madison Newberry; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Banks Bain.
She was preceded by her parents, Ivan and Rubby Tapp Maxwell, a daughter, Lynda Long, great-grandson, David Kyle Ward and a great-great-grandson, Christopher Carter Kenneth McLean. 6 brothers, Guy, Bill, LeRoy , Bobby, Derrell and Gordon. 1 sister, Patsy Carter. 1 son-in-law Danny Stoker.
