Sgt. Linda Reyes DeLeon passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 62, surrounded by her loved ones at the VA Hospital in Amarillo, TX. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at First Assembly of God in Plainview, TX. Arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, TX.
Linda was born to Joe and Eva Reyes on February 5, 1962, in Altus, Oklahoma. Sgt. DeLeon served her country for 22 years in the Army National Guard before retiring in 2016. She served one Iraq tour in 2003. She was a Family Readiness Coordinator g-co494 in Lubbock for 13 years.
Linda was an outgoing individual who enjoyed working out and actively supported her husband Jon in his remodeling company. Together they opened The Galaxy Vape Shop in 2014; Linda enjoyed being a business owner. She was a loving mother and cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren and family. Her passion for cooking, San Antonio trips, Classic Rock 'n' Roll, and George Strait's music brought joy and vibrancy to her life. A couple of her favorite songs by George were "Carrying Your Love with Me" and "The Chair". Linda and Jon shared a deep connection as members of the CMA (Christian Music Association) Motorcycle Club, where they found fulfillment and loved riding together. They were also dedicated members of the Plainview First Assembly.
Linda is preceded by her father, Reynulfo "Joe" Reyes, and brothers, Mike Reyes and Jeffrey Reyes.
Linda's memory will carry on through her husband, Jon DeLeon, her daughters, Jeanette Deleon and husband Brian Perry of Plainview, Jeanna DeLeon of Lubbock, and Angelina DeLeon of Plainview. Her brothers, Joe and wife Betty Jo Reyes of Plainview, Arturo and wife Rosa Ortiz of Hale Center. Her sister, Slyvia Reyes of Lubbock. Her grandchildren, Abrianna DeLeon, Arely Pena, Skyler Ramos, Mariah Ramos, and David Ramos. Her great-grandchildren, Ainslee, Ariane, Hendrix, and Arabella. Numerous nieces and nephews.
