With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra K. McMickings (77) on February 28, 2026, in Plainview, TX. A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel in Plainview, TX. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel in Plainview, TX with Chaplin Dean Daniel officiating. Interment will follow to Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview, TX.

Sandra was born on March 3. 1948 in Childress, TX, to Oliver Massey and Margaret MacNamara Massey. On May 31, 1968, Sandra married the love of her life, William McMickings Sr., in Happy, Texas. Their partnership was one of true strength; Sandra was William's biggest supporter and cornerstone for nearly five decades. Though William passed away just four days shy of their 48th wedding anniversary, the legacy of their love remained the foundation of the family they built together.

To know Sandra was to know her kitchen. She believed that Sunday was for family, and her table was always open. Whether you were a child, a grandchild, or a friend of the family, there was always a plate waiting for you.

Sandra grew up with a Texas spirit that she carried throughout her life. When she wasn't cooking or spending cherished time with her kids and grandkids, Sandra could be found lost in the pages of a romance novel or enjoying a good story on screen. She had a penchant for the rugged and the dramatic, never missing an episode of NCIS, Yellowstone, or her beloved westerns, and she always looked forward to the next turn of events in Game of Thrones.

Sandra is survived by her children, grandchildren, and a community of friends who will forever miss her warmth and her cooking.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia and husband Jose Garces of Plainview, son, William McMickings Jr. and wife Deliza of Plainview, son, John McMickings of El Paso, daughter, Amanda Muniz and husband Larry Muniz of San Angelo; sister, Kathy Koen of Lubbock, sister, Barbara Blount of Lubbock, sister, Cindy Kingston and husband Alex of Plainview; grandchildren, Savannah, Sabrina, and Jarred Garces of Plainview, Isaac and Sophia McMickings of Plainview, Kesirn, Lydia, and Madison McMickings of Lubbock, Isabella, Kalel, and Colton McMickings of San Angelo.

Sandra is proceeded in death by her husband, William McMickings Sr.; father, Oliver Massey; mother, Margaret Massey; brother and sister- in- law, Tommy and Sue McDonald.
