Our loving mom, Sadie Lockeby, 86 went to be with her Lord and Savior, December 30, 2012. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park in Nashville, Arkansas with Bro Bobby Neal, Pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born on November 14, 1926 in Pike County, Arkansas to William Bert Gibson and Alice Ellen Garner Gibson. She married George Lockeby Jr. on December 4, 1954 in Nashville, Arkansas. They moved to the Olton/Halfway, Texas area and lived there until 1974. They moved back to Nashville, Arkansas where she worked at Colonial Nursing Home for 20 years. After retirement she became active in the Senior Center where she received Volunteer of the Year three times. She also loved to garden, quilt and embroidery. She made many quilts and pillow cases for family and friends. She moved back to Plainview, Texas on August 5, 2005. She attended First Baptist Church until her health would not permit her to attend.

She was preceded in death by her husband on November 26, 1979, her parents, five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one sister, Bessie Burmett of Nashville, AR; one son, Herman Lockeby and wife Jan of Las Vegas, NV; three daughters, Mary Driver and husband Doyle of Plainview, TX, Alice Sawayer and husband Paul of Plainview, TX, Jodie Chandler and husband Charles of Nashville, AR; two grandsons, two granddaughters, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandson.
