Funeral Services for R.W. "Weaver" McClure, 96 of Kress will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, at First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Pastor Mitch Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd County Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. McClure died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born on December 17, 1919 in Wise County, Texas to Claude Jackson and Betty Weaver McClure. R.W. married Peggy Ann Trice on December 27, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas. He was a Farmer and was on the Swisher County Water District Board and the Edmonson Wheat Growers Board of Directors for 21 years. He was also a Veteran of the 8th Army Air Corp. R.W. is survived by 1 daughter, Linet McClure and husband Gary of Cedar Park, TX; 3 sons, Richard McClure and wife Kandi of Shallowater, TX, Weaver McClure II and wife Jan of Denton, TX and Jeff McClure and wife Yvette of Kress, TX; 6 grandchildren, Shawn McClure, Melissa McClure Horst, Elizabeth McClure Jacobson, John McClure, Krystal McClure, Kacey McClure and was also blessed with 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
