Rubye Oleta (Edmonson) Terrell, 91, formerly of Plainview, went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2022, in Temple, Texas.  She is rejoicing with her Savior, her husband Jeff, and many other family members and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home. Following a private family graveside burial service, a Celebration of Life service will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Plainview, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022.  Lanny Voss will officiate the Celebration of Life service.  Rubye's family will be at President's House Bed & Breakfast on Friday & Saturday for any visitors.

Rubye was born on February 10, 1931, at home in Hopkins County, Texas to Gaylord and Gretchen Edmonson.  Her family moved to the Halfway community near Plainview, Texas when she was 17.  She met the love of her life, BJ (Jeff) Terrell, at the church in Halfway.

Rubye and Jeff married in June of1951.   After Jeff's service in Korea, they lived in several places before they began farming in the Lone Star community north of Lockney, Texas in 1959.  This is where they raised their 4 children over the course of 25 years before moving to Plainview, Texas to enjoy their "golden years".

Rubye had her "2nd birth" into the Lord's kingdom at age 12.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother using her gifts of teaching, mentoring, encouraging, and hospitality.  Her four children know they had the best mother, and she is already missed.

One daughter's friend aptly summed her up — "a classy Christian lady".  Rubye was the glue that held her family together; she left quite a legacy in her Christian life.  She was best known by these 2 phrases: "I feel sorry for anybody that's not us today." and "I love you more!".

Rubye was preceded in death by her husband Jeff, her parents, a sister, and a grandson.  These family members are having a joyous reunion in heaven.

Rubye is survived by 3 daughters-Sandy Watson of Salado, Kay King of Denton, Mitzi Lindsey with her husband Larry of Leander and 1 son-Jeff (JD) Terrell with his wife Gay of Lockney.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren (+1 more due this year), 1 great great-grandchild (+ 2 more due this year), 1 sister, 1 brother, sister-in-laws, & numerous nieces & nephews.  She adored them all.

This spunky lady has left a spiritual imprint on so many of us—family and friends.
