Robert Sansom, 96, departed this life and entered heaven's gates on June 28, 2026, in Lubbock, TX. A Viewing will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, Texas. A Graveside Service will follow on July 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. 

Robert was born to Timothy Sansom and Cordia Leonard Sansom in Alvarado, TX, on February 9, 1930.

Robert was known for his generous soul and deep faith, often expressing his devotion through singing. He cherished moments with his grandchildren and remained dedicated to his work as a longshoreman in the Houston area until his retirement in 1983. A skilled handyman, he enjoyed building and repairing things. In his leisure, he loved traveling, picking pecans, and sharing his passion for cooking with others. He also delighted in watching wrestling and football on television, especially as a devoted Cowboys fan.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Sansom and Cordia Leonard Sansom; his sisters, Ruth Sansom Story, Amanda Sansom Brown, and Verrgie Sansom Johnson; his brothers, Ruben Sansom, Earnest Sansom, and Timothy Sansom Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joe Zelma Richard of Alvarado, and Krystal Sansom of Plainview; his sons, Ricky Sansom of Alvarado, R.T. Sansom Jr. of Alvarado, and Ricky Sansom of Alvarado, and Author Ray Sansom of Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandchildren.
