Robert Cornelius, 90, of Plainview, passed from this life on May 17, 2018 in Plainview.  A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview.
Robert was born on November 26, 1927 in Slippery Rock, PA., to Lee Fred and Edna Arlene (Morrison) Cornelius. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years until he retired in 1967. He fought during the Korean War. He married Cheryl Billings on May 21, 1971 in Clovis, NM.

Robert was a licensed air craft mechanic at Miller Flying Service in Plainview until he retired. He loved old cars, old planes and mowing his yard once a week. Robert was a private person, but his family meant the world to him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Cheryl Cornelius of Plainview, children; Patrick Cornelius and wife Clara of Plainview, Josh Cornelius and fiancé Candy Ruiz of Lovington, NM., Robert Cornelius and wife Toni of Australia, and Dennis Cornelius and wife Sue of Australia, one brother; Don Cornelius of Panama City, FL., and seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters.
