Richard "Kirk" Gaither, 65, of Plainview, Texas passed away from this earthly world and entered heaven's gates on January 28, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Bartley Funeral Home.

Kirk was born on May 17, 1956, to Luther and Jeanne (Frye) Gaither in Plainview, Texas where he has been a life-long resident. He started farming at an early age and continued to do so throughout his life. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1974. Kirk worked for the Plainview Daily Herald as a pressman for 25 years. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors.

Kirk will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons; Richard Craig Gaither and wife, Letesha, of Lockney, and Corey Gaither and wife, Shiloh, of Plainview, his grandchildren; Kaitlyn Gaither, Coltin Gaither, and Carson Gaither of Lockney, Raelynn Gaither and Corbin Gaither of Plainview. Sisters; Cynthia Gaither Stone of Lubbock, Belinda Gaither Pruitt of Josephine, Texas, Melinda Gaither Silvas and husband, Domingo Jr., of Plainview, and Lynda Gaither Perkins and husband, Jimmy, of Plainview. Kirk was also blessed with 3 nieces, 4 nephews, 3 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.

Kirk is preceded in death by his parents; Luther and Jeanne Gaither, grandparents; Walter and Eleanor Frye and John and Della Gaither.
