Rene Cedillo Jr, 37, of San Antonio, Texas, previously Petersburg, Texas, passed from this life in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 17, 2020. Service will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel located at Bartley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on May 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery.  A rosary will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Bartley Funeral Home.

Rene was born on July 17, 1982 to Rene and Maria (Mendez) Cedillo in Slaton, Texas. He graduated Petersburg High School in 2001. Rene worked as a roofer for over 20 years and enjoyed it immensely. He enjoyed traveling and living life to the fullest. Rene will be remembered as a loving, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory is his parents; Rene and Maria Cedillo of Petersburg, grandmother; Eulalia Pérez Méndez, grandfather; Socorro Cedillo, his girlfriend; Nelda Margarita Martinez, brother; Antonio Mena of Petersburg, sisters; Angelica Mendez and husband, Jorge, of Arlington, Texas, Evigail Cedillo Lopez and husband, Julius, of Lubbock and Lissette Cedillo of Petersburg. Rene leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly; Isaiah, Samantha, Ethan, Evan, Yaya, Alexis, Manuel, Samuel, and Malachi.
