Ramona Vera, 90, of Plainview, departed from this earthly world and entered heaven's gates on January 10, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Plainview Memorial Park on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. A rosary will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Bartley Memorial Chapel.

Ramona was born to Jose and Augustina Torrez on April 13, 1930 in Ballinger, Texas. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She volunteered with F.I.S.H. and loved giving back and helping her community. Ramona was a diehard fan of The Texas Rangers which came as a shock to many. Above all, Ramona loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Oralia Saldua and husband, Juan, of Del Rio, TX, Rosa Linda Vera of Amarillo, TX, Arthur Vera and wife, Susie, of Plainview, TX, Raymond Vera of Fort Worth, TX, Miranda M. Vera of Clovis, NM, and a special granddaughter/caretaker; Mona Vera Smith and her husband, James, of Plainview.

She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren that she adored dearly.

Ramona is preceded in death by her husband; Martin Vera Sr. parents; Jose Angel Torrez and Augustina Torrez, and her children; Martin Vera Jr., Juan Jose Vera, and Corina Vera.
