Ralph May, Jr.

Ralph May Jr. age 82, of Plainview passed away on Sunday March 22, 2015 in Plainview. Mr. May was born on August 26, 1932 in Plainview, Texas to the late Ralph May Sr. & Irene (Hollingsworth) May. He was united in marriage to JoAnn May on July 1, 1961 in Amarillo. To this union three children were born. Mr. May was a lifelong horse trainer and was involved in breeding and horse training all of his life with the exception of the time that he spent serving his country in the Navy. Mr. May is survived by his wife of 53 years, JoAnn of Plainview; two sons, Ralph William May, of Benbrook; and Robert "Bob" Lee May and wife Shana of Snyder; one daughter, Jan Reeves and husband, Steve, of Plainview; one sister, Geri Eurey of Pleasanton; Mr. May is also survived by his three granddaughters, Laurie Roberson, Jenna Thompson and Aryn May; and two great grandchildren; Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Dorothy Patty; Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service to honor the life of Ralph May Jr. will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 2p.m. at the 2nd and Beach Church of Christ with Doug McDonough officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
