Polly Lillian Westmoreland, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home in Plainview, TX.  She fell asleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus.  She was born February 3, 1958 to Freeda May Vail in Lubbock, TX.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Freeda. A memorial service for Polly will be on March 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Plainview, TX.

Polly married Donald Ray Westmoreland on March 20, 1993.  They have been married for 26 years now.  Polly is also survived by three brothers, David and Janet Vail of Hooker, OK, Charles and Carma Vail of Plainview, Texas, and Michael Vail of Puyallup, WA.  She is also survived by five children, William Higgins of Wichita, KS, Benny and Chris Baker of Sudan, TX, and Bobby and PJ Westmoreland of Corinth, TX.  Polly's world came alive when she had grandchildren.  She left behind seven grandchildren:  Sarah, Xavier, Mathew, Noah, Sierra, Luke, and Leah. She recently had one great-granddaughter, Kennedy, added to her bunch.

Polly served her community and worked as a nurse aide from the time she was 20 years old.  She had a huge heart for older people, and loved them well.  Many of her patients over the years considered her family, and she them.  She had a generous heart and would give her last penny to someone in need.  She gave freely of her time, her money, and most importantly, her heart.
