Funeral services for Peggy Louise Eason, age 68, of Plainview will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2015 at Bartley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Oklahoma Lane Cemetery in Farwell, Texas. Friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, June 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Peggy passed away after a lengthy illness taking one day at a time, always having a positive outlook. She was born May 19, 1947 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Her parents were Ed and Dorothy Eason. She moved to Farwell, Texas before her first birthday and graduated from high school there. After graduation, she attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.
Peggy began her teaching career in 1970 at Thunderbird Elementary where she taught for 27 years. After retirement, she went back as a Reading Specialist teaching until she became ill. She had a big heart with room enough for her many students, beloved friends and co-workers. She served on the board of the Crisis Center of the Plains several years and was president for 2 years. The the Plainview Police Department held a special place in her heart where she volunteered for many years before she became ill.
Peggy had two life-long friends, Linda Hardy and Donna Cummings, whom she dearly loved. Her cousins were her closest relatives. Johnny Sandlin, a co-worker for 27 years and a friend for 42 years, became her caregiver for the last 5 years of her life. His family loved Peggy adding her to the Sandlin Clan without reservation.
