Funeral services for Pedro S. Vasquez, 75 of Plainview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Bartley Memorial Chapel with Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Vasquez died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Plainview. He was born on May 3, 1939 in Brownsville, Texas to Casimiro and Ventura Vasquez. He married Angelita M. Vasquez on December 3, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Angelita M. Vasquez of Plainview; 2 sons, Pedro Vasquez, Jr. and Cruz Vasquez both of Plainview; 2 daughters, Sylvia Lopez and Angelita Serna both of Plainview; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents, 1 daughter, San Juana Vasquez, 2 brothers, Benito and Daniel Vasquez and 2 sisters, Maria Reyes and Lupe Garcia. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Area Community Hospice.
