Obituary

Paulina Chapa Aldaco, 87, of Plainview, passed away peacefully, on February 10, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Plainview Memorial Park on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father George Poonely officiating. A rosary will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6-8 p.m.

Paulina was born in Durango, Mexico on June 6, 1933 to Cresenciano Chapa and Herlinda Vargas. Before moving to Plainview, Paulina lived and worked in El Paso and Lubbock as a domestic and cleaning lady. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a Cursillista.

In 1975, Paulina married Julian Aldaco and worked alongside him at Burger King for 13 years after he retired from farming. She was known for her amazing gardening skills, a passion for crocheting and her unique cooking and baking.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; Tomas Chapa of Little Elm, Texas; two stepdaughters; Angie Valdez Flores and husband, Joe, of Lubbock, Anita Goodrum and husband, Larry, of Amarillo, two sisters of Lubbock; Licha Pastrano and Josefa Quezada, two brothers; Jesus Chapa and Ramon Chapa of Chihuahua, Mexico. Paulina was blessed with 6 grandchildren, was Mamma Great to 10 great-grandchildren and loved by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister; Eulalia Terrazas, and a grand-daughter; Sara Valdez-Perez.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests love donation to Area Community Hospice of Plainview or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
