Paul John
Brown
Aug 2, 1947 — Oct 22, 2026
Plainview
It is with great sadness that we announce that Paul Brown passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on October 22, 2026, in Tulia, TX. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview, TX.
Paul was born on August 2, 1947, to Duel and Jeraldine Brown in Plainview, Texas. He grew up in Plainview and attended Plainview High School. On October 4, 1969, he married the love of his life, Gracie, at her parents' house in Hale Center, TX.
Dedicated to his community, Paul was an active member of the Lions Club, served as a Boy Scout Master, and was involved with Little League Baseball.
A devoted family man, he cherished his time with loved ones, especially Gracie. For most of his adult life, he worked at Energas, which is now known as Atmos Energy. Paul had a lifelong passion for tinkering with old cars and displaying them at car shows. He even helped organize a local car show in Plainview, which was held on the third Saturday of each month—first at Nu-Griddle Café and later at Gebo’s parking lot.
Known for freely sharing advice, Paul always enjoyed visiting with friends, whether just talking or playing a game of cards. Among his family's fondest memories is a special trip they took together to Galveston.
Paul’s memory will live on through his wife, Gracie Brown; his son, Paul Jr and wife Keri Brown of Tulia, TX; his brother, Jerry and wife Cheryl Brown of Hugh Springs, TX; his two grandsons, Garrett and wife Rachael Brown and Cameron Brown.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Duel and Jeraldine Brown; and a sister, Claudia Conners.
