Obituary

Norma Kelly Bartley, 86, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born in Amarillo, Texas, on October 23, 1926, to Flora and E.T. Kelly. Norma has resided in Lubbock since 1931. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Bartley, whom she married on June 12, 1948, and her sister, Dee Kelly Jackson.

Norma graduated from Lubbock High School in 1943, later attended SMU where she received her degree in Music Education. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Junior League of Lubbock. She and her father owned The Little Shoppe which initially was a consignment shop for hand crafted gifts. The Little Shoppe's focus was later changed to Norma's passion for collecting miniatures; which kept her busy for many years. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the chancel choir and loved travelling to exciting destinations in the US and abroad, performing with the choir.

Norma is survived by her four children, Tommy Bartley and wife, Denise, of Lubbock; Sally Cowell and husband, Chuck, of Plano; Nancy Cocanougher and husband, Gary, of Georgetown; Amy Steward and husband, Randy of Lubbock; and by her eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Music at First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013, in Neil Chapel at Carillon LifeCare Community with Dr. Keith Wiseman officiating.
