M.K. (Mike,Mackie,"Big M") Fisher, Jr. fell asleep in Christ on Thursday, September 18, 2014.
He was born on May 24, 1939 to Malcolm K. and Judy Imogene Fisher, Sr in Lubbock. Both parents preceded him in death. Mike was raised on the family farm in Hale County and went on to pursue several careers during his life. He was a farmer, Rancher, in the oil business and also was a Captain in the National Guard. He greatly enjoyed his passion for flying and motorcycle riding. But the greatest loves of his life were his family and his joy in sharing Christ's love with all he met. Mike is survived by his wife, Rebecca Fisher; three daughters, Michelle Kristine Reno and husband Larry of Lubbock; Vanessa Markow of Orange, FL and Brenda Kaye Fisher of Pensacola, FL. and two sons; Michael Kirk Fisher and wife, Misti of Midland, TX and Kelly Mac Fisher and wife Patti of Atlanta, GA Eight Grandchildren: Mikayla and Braden Reno; Miles, Mitchell and Maverick Fisher; Mac and Brian Fisher; and Lauren Markow. One brother, Donald Gene Fisher and wife Mary of Hale Center, TX and several cousins and friends worldwide. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to: Dare to Believe Ministries (PO Box 1273, Plainview, TX 79073; Kairos of Texas (508S Texas Shamrock, TX 79079), or First Baptist Church of Cotton Center, TX(2324 FM 179, Cotton Ctr, TX 79021): ministries that Mike loved and served with for many years. Mike considered himself to be a Blessed Man all the days of his life and now he rests peacefully awaiting the glorious day when Christ calls us all home to be with him. A celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Cotton Center at 3 pm. J.D. Templeton and Dennis Hartley will officiate the services. Mike's earthly body has been donated to Texas Tech Medical School; arrangements made by Bartley Funeral Home.
