Obituary

Funeral services for Mignon Williams, 84 of Plainview will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at United Baptist Church with Rev. M.L. White officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mignon Williams was born in Amite County, Mississippi to parents Alfred and Gertrude Martin, on March 28, 1931. She moved to Plainview, Texas with her husband Harold Loyd Williams, Sr. and son Harold L. Williams, Jr. in 1952. Mignon made her home here for 62 years. Mignon worked at Hale County State Bank before her retirement. She volunteered with Hale County Housing Authority, Hale County Crisis Center. She was a member of the adult Women's Study Club and was well known for her gifts of Hosting Party's, Wedding Showers and gatherings. Mignon was a member of United Baptist Church.

She is survived by son, Harold L. Williams, Jr. and wife Wonda; granddaughter, Stephanie Williams-Wright; great grandson, Stephan D. Wright; great granddaughter, Ashlynn D. Wright; three brothers, Alfred, Amos and Otis Martin; four sisters, Joyce Martin, Mildred Perry, Etta Quinn and Mable Williams; niece, Doris Washington, nephew, J.W. Williams, Jr. and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Martin, Sr.; mother, Gertrude Martin, husband, Harold L. Williams, Sr. and two brothers, Freddie and Hosie Martin.
