Melissa Abdali Valdez, 30, of Sugarland, TX, formerly of Tulia, TX, passed from this life on January 5, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. on January 12, 2019. A visitation will be held at Bartley Funeral Home on January 11, 2019 from 6-8 p.m.

Melissa was born on March 24, 1988 to Manuel Valdez and Martha Villalobos. She attended Tulia High School and later attended Amarillo College and Houston Community College. She was married to Alfonso Casias and shared 14 years together. They had one son, Alfonso Casias Jr. She worked as a CNA and medical assistant. Melissa always worked hard and achieved her goals. She had an enormous heart and always saw the best in everyone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; Alfonso Luis Casias Jr of Sugarland, Tx, husband; Alfono Luis Casias of Sugarland, Tx, parents; Manuel and Nydia Valdez of Laredo, Tx, grandmother; Maria Valdez of Laredo, Tx, grandparents; Jose and Graciela Alcala of Tulia, Tx, sisters; Miriam (Valdez) Hernandez of Tulia, Tx, Victoria Whitsett of Tulia, Tx, Neomy Villalobos of Tulia, Tx, Neyda Garza of Jarrell, Tx, and Vanessa Wood of Laredo, Tx. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melissa is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Villalobos and her grandfather, Manuel Valdez.
