Mattie V. Voyles, 79, of Plainview, TX, passed from this life on January 2, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Bartley Memorial Chapel from 4-6 p.m.

Mattie was born on September 25, 1939 to John and Mildred (Moore) Pomykal. She married Samuel Voyles on August 17, 1957 in Plainview, TX. She worked as a cafeteria worker for 19 years and then as a  jailer for Hale County Sheriffs office for 11 years until retirement. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are her husband, Samuel Voyles of Plainview, TX, sons; Samuel Voyles Jr. and wife, Bettye, of Plainview, TX, John Voyles of Irving, TX, daughter; Madelyn Cunningham of Plainview, TX. One sister and three brothers. Her six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter; Diane Voyles.
