Obituary

Mary L. Buckner went to be with her Lord and Savoir on June 4th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  A visitation will be held Sunday, June 11th from 6 – 8 pm at Bartley Memorial Chapel.  Funeral Services will be June 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church (Finney) with Pastors HK Tomas and Mason Buckner Officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas.

May L. Buckner was born May 20, 1951 to Frank Warren and Naomi Ruth Story in Matador, Texas.  Mary attended   Matador High School where she graduated.

Mary married the love of her life, Leeroy Buckner, on June 1, 1999, in Plainview, Texas.  She was known by Aunt Mae to everyone.  She enjoyed fishing. Aunt Mae loved getting together with her family, she loved to cook and would call the family members and tell them to come eat.  Her family was her life she attended every event like birthdays, graduations, holidays, any simple family get togethers and played games, bingo, cards, etc.  She would tell her family they needed to be more in touch with each other.  Mary was a member of the Church of Christ Church.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories:  Her Husband: Leeroy Buckner; Her Children: Bradley Nelms (Tiwana) of San Antonio, TX; Stanley Nelms, Jr. of Amarillo, TX; Twyla Hines (Daron) of Plainview, TX; Mason Buckner (Melissa) of Crowley, TX; Bianca Buckner-Harris (Justin) of Fort Worth, TX; and Ebonne Buckner-Harris (Carl) of Arlington; Her Sisters: Ruby Jewels Story-Hall of Aurora, CO; Faye Young (James) of Lubbock, TX; Venita Story (Lois) of Lubbock, TX; Margaret Story of Midwest City, Okla; and April Story of Waco;  Her Brothers: Jewel Story of Austin, TX; Kenneth Story (Linda) of Austin, TX James Story of New Mexico; And numerous Nephews and Nieces.

She is preceded in death by:  Her Parents: Frank Warren and  Naomi Ruth Story; Veola Story; Juanita Story; Carl Story; DeWayne  Story; James Buckner; Estelle Buckner and Gladyes Buckner.
