Obituary

Martha Ann Carlisle Robbins of Azalea/Glendale, Oregon, died Sunday morning, July
12, 2020, while visiting family in Plainview, Texas.

Memorials and celebration of her life will be held in Plainview and Azalea scheduled for a future time
when social distancing is less restrictive.

Arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home.

She was born May 25, 1959, to James and Corene Carlisle in Portales, N.M., where she attended school.
After marrying Gary Russell Sept. 7. 1975, the couple moved to Plainview in 1980. While in Plainview,
Martha worked for the local Chevrolet dealership, then as an area manager for Allsup's Convenience
Stores. She and Gary were divorced in 1984.

She married Terry Robbins, the love of her life, on Jan 1, 2002, in Orland, CA. They moved to Oregon in
2004.

Martha was a Baptist. She was a member of the Azalea Rural Fire Department for 15 years, serving as
Safety Officer and Captain. The fire department announced her final call, 07-12-2020. She also
volunteered at the community food bank and sewed more stockings for kids each Christmas for the Pay
It Forward Stocking Drive. An artist, Martha enjoyed woodworking, crochet, soap making, drawing,
painting, sewing, cooking and canning, and shared her creations with family and friends. She and Terry
enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and riding their motorcycles in the beautiful Oregon countryside.

Preceding Martha in death were a daughter, Kandy Russell (at birth), her parents, James Carlisle, Corene
Chambers and step-father Elmer Chambers, and three brothers, James Carlisle, Marvin Eminger and
John Carlisle.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Robbins, of Azalea, Oregon; her former husband and father of her
children, Gary Russell of Locust Grove, Okla.; children, Dandy and Shawn Jones of Plainview, Mandy and
Bryan Hodge of Corsicana, Jory and Nicole Logan Russell of Hale Center, and Michelle and Robert Baker
of Powers, Oregon. She had eight grandchildren, Scott Cornelius, Clint Jones, Collen Jones, Madyson
Hodge, Brody Hodge, Emily Russell, Lara Russell and Timothy Dexter, as well as two great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by her siblings, Mary Hill of Texaco, Perlia Tivis of Clovis, N.M., Goldie Wall of
Lubbock, Clara Hughes of Plainview, Glenda Bell of Rose, Okla., and Betty Chambers of Portales, N.M.
