Marina Gonzalez, 53, of Lubbock, formerly Plainview, departed this earthly world and entered heaven's gates on October 31, 2021. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Church in Plainview with Pastor Steve Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m., at Bartley Funeral Home.

Marina was born on March 10, 1968, in Plainview, Texas to Ascencion and Lydia (Jacques) Gonzalez. She was born and raised in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1987. She worked for Walmart Distribution Center for 10 years. Marina loved her grandchildren very much and loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, spouse, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory is her mother; Lydia Gonzalez of Plainview, her son; Justin Gonzalez and wife, Sarah of Lubbock, her grandchildren; Emerson Gonzalez, Justin Gonzalez Jr., Jonah Gonzalez, and another granddaughter on the way, her spouse; Marcello Rodriguez of Lubbock, sisters; Esther Sanchez and husband, Abelino, of Amarillo, Patricia Esparza and husband, Tirso, of Plainview, Maryann Cortez and spouse, Wayne Mendoza of Plainview, Mary Jane Borrego and husband, AB, of Plainview, and Becky Baeza and husband, Shon, of Lubbock, brothers; Luis Cortez and wife, Ruthann, of Minnesota and Ernest Cortez and wife, Alicia, of Amarillo; niece Jesika Nikole Gausin.

Marina is preceded in death by her father; Ascencion "Chon" R. Gonzalez and her grandmother; Maria De La Luz Jacques.
