Marie Walker (nee Jarnagin)

Marie Walker went to be with her Lord on February 16, 2018, at the age of 84. Born on February 20, 1933, in Daisy, Oklahoma to Walter Francis and Blanche (Richmond) Jarnagin. Marie graduated from Littlefield High School in May of 1950. Marie then married her husband, Jack Preston (J.P.) Walker on, January 31, 1953, in Clovis, NM. They moved to Plainview where they made their life and raised their family.  Marie was a homemaker and lived on the family farm, west of Plainview, until she was moved into The Beehive Care Facility. Marie helped her husband farm and was an active part of her husband's business, Walker Brothers Produce in Plainview. She also, was involved in numerous of the children's activities including teaching Sunday School for the pre-school aged children at Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Marie will always be remembered as an extraordinary cook and an immaculate housekeeper, all the while looking like a million bucks!  Her granddaughters have fond memories of spending the night with "Mamaw" and her showing them how to cook. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jack Preston Walker, a son Brian Carl Walker and another son Perry Walker. Her parents, a sister, Alyine Lieske, brother Jack Jarnagin, brother Jimmy Jarnagin, sister Mattie Lee Wallace.  Marie is survived by a daughter, Barbara Huffhines and husband Eddie of Hale Center, Texas; grandchildren, Heidi Inglet and sons Jaeger & Tucker of Tomball, Texas; Heather Gruhlkey and husband Cody and children; Brennan, Austin & Laney of Kress, Texas. Holly Hingst and husband Chris and children; Maggie & Hayden of St. Francis, Kansas. Landon Walker and wife Chelsea and a daughter, Rianne of Floydada, Texas. Whitley Green and Husband Scott of Dallas, Texas. Rhett Walker of Carrollton and Jerrod Walker of Houston. Sister, Joann Jarnagin; brothers Gene Jarnagin & wife Pat of Lubbock and David Jarnagin and wife Brenda also of Lubbock, Texas & a son, Richard Walker and wife Catherine of Austin, and a sister in law; Winnie Moore of Lubbock.

The family would like to express their gratitude to The BeeHive and staff, especially, Teri Courtney and Shae Anderson. Visitation will be held on February 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bartley Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Plainview Memorial Park with Pastor Van Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Texas Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 5665 Lubbock, Tx 79408, in honor of Marie Walker.
