Funeral mass for Maria Perez, 84 of Plainview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Maria died Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Lubbock. She was born December 7, 1930 in Choate, Texas to Sabas and Juanita Mendez. She married Tomas Perez III on May 19, 1960 in Kennedy, Texas. She is survived by 4 sons, Raymond Perez and wife Anita, Carlos Perez and wife Tonya, Thomas Perez, Jr. and Raul Gaucin all of Plainview; 4 daughters, Elodia Saucedo and Gloria Perez of Plainview, Irma Perez and husband Shane of Spade, TX and Mary Ann Carey and husband Ruben of Alice, TX; 2 brothers, Emelio Mendez of Brownfield and Sabas Mendez of Lubbock; 1 sister, Audelia Cortez of Lubbock; 26 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband.
