Maria G. Lara, 82, of Hale Center, TX, passed from this life on April 28, 2020. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home

Maria was born on July 25, 1937 to Clara Garcia in Plainview, Texas. She was raised by Ophelia Sanchez at an early age. She was a loving and caring mother who loved her family. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos, and thrift shopping. She was hardworking and very accepting to all walks of life. She will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons; Leon Reyer of Post, Texas, Juan Reyes Jr. of El Paso, Texas, Luis Reyes of Hale Center, Martin Reyes and husband, Simon, of Hale Center, and Raul Reyes and wife, Lily, of El Paso, Texas, one daughter; Francesca Nicole Lara of Plainview, Texas. One brother; Pat Garcia and four sisters; Ramona Garcia of Lubbock, Millie Mitchell of Plainview, Virginia Garcia of California, and Ruby Garcia of Amarillo, Texas. Maria was also blessed with 36 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her children; Josie Reyes, Robert Reyes, and Esiquio Reyes
