Maria Gonzalez, 79, of Plainview, passed from this life on July 13, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date when family and friends can safely gather.

Maria was born on July 28, 1940 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Jose Remedios Ferrer and Maria Del Carmen Briones. She married Pablo Gonzalez on October 3, 1964 in Plainview, Texas.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview, TX where she was a Cursillista and Guadalupana.  She was a great seamstress, had an amazing green thumb and enjoyed playing board games with her family and friends. Her greatest joy, though, was playing with her great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory is her children; Dolores Rodriguez and husband, Joe Frank, of Plainview, Lucia Valadez and husband, Jose, of Bryan, Texas, John Gonzalez and wife, Lupita, of Wylie, Texas, Marisela Rodriguez and husband, Jose Angel, of Fort Worth, and Sonia Mellgren and husband, Scott, of Ocean Springs, MS, brothers; Angel Ferrer of Lubbock, and Margarito Ferrer of Plainview. Maria was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Gonzalez,  parents, brothers; Juan Ferrer, Pedro Ferrer, and Luis Ferrer, and a sister; Maria De Jesus Garcia
