Reunited with her husband, Jose, in heaven, we announce the passing of Marcelina H. Huerta of Plainview, TX, on June 3, 2025, in Plainview, TX. A Rosary will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, with Father George Poonley officiating. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.

Marcelina was born on July 17, 1945, to Pasquel and Jesusa Hernandez. She married the love of her life, Jose Huerta, on May 24, 1972, at the Church of St. James in Beeville, TX.

Marcelina was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was part of the Guadalupanas and volunteered regularly. A firm believer in God, she had a generous spirit and a servant's heart. Marcelina dedicated herself to caring for her family and others around her. She was a loving great-grandmother and played a significant role in raising her grandchildren. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she delighted in making and sharing tamales. Additionally, she was part of a polka dancing team and was always seen with a smile on her face. She always carried her purse on her shoulder, keeping a hand on it at all times, and would even sleep with her purse tucked under her pillow.

Marcelina is preceded in death by her parents, Pasquel and Jesusa Hernandez; her husband, Jose Huerta; her daughter, Adelaida Luna; one sister, and several brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rene and Connie Huerta, Josephina Alvarado, Minnie Mireles, Paula Naranjo, and Racheal Ibarra; six grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
