Funeral services for Leslie M. Compton, 71 of Plainview will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at United Baptist Church with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Compton died Monday, May 25 in Plainview. She was born April 1, 1944 in Big Hill, Texas to Leslie Leon and Louise (Williams) Ray. She married Willie Jaycee Compton on April 20, 1973 in Plainview. She worked at High Plains Hospital in Hale Center as a caregiver and at Wee Care Child Center in Plainview. She was a member of Rehoboth Christian Worship Center. She is survived by 3 sons, Justin Compton of Plainview, Jonathon Compton of Lexington, Nebraska and Tony Wagner and wife Shunda of Lubbock; 3 daughters, Barbara Phelps of Phoenix, Arizona, Tonja Ray and Natasha Compton both of Plainview; 3 sisters, Janice Hall and Sue Turner both of Plainview and Ora Harris of Odessa; 3 brothers, Kurtis Ray of Dallas, Allen Ray of Plainview and Mack Ray of Midland; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband.
