Lela Frances Rook, 81, of Plainview, passed from this life on November 10, 2018. Graveside arrangements are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home at Plainview Memorial Park on November 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

She was born on June 21, 1937 in Plainview, TX to Homer and Callie (Hooper) Rook in Plainview, TX. Lela worked as dispatch at Hale County Sherriff's Office in the 60's. She also ran a cosmetology class at Betty Lee's Beauty School in the 70's. Lela finished her working career as a correctional officer at TDCJ at the Wheeler Unit.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; David Butler and wife, Lani, of Plainview, TX and Dennis Butler and wife, Melody, of Plainview, TX, and daughters; Suzanne (Butler) Harris of North Port, FL, and Callie Butler of California.  Also, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Vivian Bauhof, Betty Robertson, and Dorthy Byard.
