Graveside services for Larry Wayne Grimsley, 79 of Abernathy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 in Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Grimsley passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born December 6, 1935 in Weinert, Texas to William Shelton and Pearl (Brown) Grimsley. He married Billie Jo Stone on October 10, 1958 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army for 2 years. He was a Licensed Well Driller and worked for High Plains Drilling for 27 years. He is survived by his wife: Billie Jo Grimsley of Abernathy; 3 Sons: Jerry Grimsley and wife Dianna, Bobby Grimsley and wife Jeania and Mike Grimsley and wife Jana all of Abernathy; 1 brother: Robert Grimsley and wife Clara of Graham, TX; 1 sister: Donna Thomas of Haskell, TX; 6 grandchildren, Jody Grimsley, Andy Grimsley, Levi Grimsley, Zachary Grimsley, Kade Grimsley, Elizabeth Horsford and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: 1 son, Billy Wayne Grimsley; 1 daughter, Cathy Ann Grimsley and 3 brothers, W.H., Bill and Gerald Grimsley.
