Obituary

Mark Mangum was born in Tulia, Texas to Rocky Blaine and Judy Ray Mangum on September 14, 1963. He attended Lockney High School and also served in the National Guard. Mark's family and friends knew him to be an expert craftsman, whether it be in woodworking, automotive, plumbing, electrical or a new venture, he mastered the craft. He was very much an extremely independent person who chose to live his life by his own exact terms. He had many friends and a family that loved him very much, even though he could be at times very obstinate and hard-headed. His work, however, was above reproach. For all that touched Mark's life and helped him in so many unseen ways, we thank you and pray that God blesses you in many ways. A graveside service will be held to honor Mark's memory on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Lockney Cemetery with Doug Yates officiating. Skye Timms, Mark's cousin, will offer a musical memorial at the graveside. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Bartley Funeral Home. Mark was preceded in death by his mother on March 29, 1995; grandparents, Paul and Viola Mangum and Arthur and Juanita Ray. He is survived by his father, Rocky B. Mangum; his step-mother, Mary Katherine Mangum; his sister, Anjella Blair; his daughter, Krista Mangum; his half sister, Aleson J. Billington; his aunts, Ruth and John Sautter, Laura and David Curry and Tara Mangum; his uncles, Roy and Doris Ray, Don and Sarah Ray and Dale and Ruth Ray.
