Funeral services for Juanita Browning, 74 of Plainview will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dorn Chapel Cemetery in Mitchell County, Texas under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Browning passed away Saturday, April 18 in Plainview. She was born February 25, 1941 in Westbrook, Texas to Edgar and Bertha (Wendland) Andrews. She married Max Browning on October 12, 1958 in Westbrook. Juanita was an Innovative Nurse working at many nursing homes and hospitals as director of nursing. She mentored many young nurses throughout the state of Texas. Her husband Max was stationed in many different towns in his ministry including El Paso, Monahans, Shallowater, Mitchell County, Pampa and Plainview. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Max Browning of Plainview; 3 daughters, Sheri Derrick and husband Bruce of Plainview, Cheryl Duke and husband Rev. Bill Duke of Mission, Texas and Sharla Moreland and husband Jr. of Plainview; 1 sister, Doris Golden of Odessa; 8 grandchildren, Brandon and Hannah Browning of Manila, Arkansas, Ashlea Sowa of Plainview, Matthew Sowa of Lubbock, Courtney Derrick of College Station, Cameron Derrick of Plainview, Colton Derrick of Plainview, Sarah and Daniel Cano of Mission, Texas and Bethany Duke of Mission, Texas; 2 great grandchildren, Noah Maxwell Browning and Isaac James Browning both of Manila, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews.
