Obituary

J.T. (Johnny) Harrison, 72 of Hale Center passed away Sunday January 17, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center Palliative Medicine Unit in Lubbock. He was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana on December 9, 1943. He married Deliece Harrison on May 31, 1963 and is survived by his wife, Deliece Harrison of Hale Center, two daughters, Cassandra Harrison of Plainview and Christi Redden and husband Mike Redden and two grandsons, Casey Redden and Tucker Redden of Hale Center, one brother-in-law Mark Gilly and Beth Gilly of San Antonio, one sister-in-law Mary Harrison of Sunset Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. He had a long career in the Texas and Louisiana National Guard, and served as a peace officer in Shreveport Louisiana, Montgomery County, Texas, Lubbock County Sheriffs Office and Hale County Sheriffs Office and as Chief of Police in Hale Center. After his retirement from Hale Center, he served as City Marshall of Nazareth. Funeral services will be held at Plainview First Assembly, Thursday, January 21, 2016 @ 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. His ashes will be laid to rest at Floydada Cemetery beside his beloved Father in-law (Eugene Gilly) and Mother in-law (Edna Gilly) and brother in-law at a private family memorial service. Memorials may be made to Plainview First Assembly at 1300 I-27, Plainview, TX 79072.
