On November 4, 2025, Jose David Patino departed this world to be reunited in heaven with his cherished wife, Gregoria "Georgia" Patino. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 am with Pastor Aaron Smith, Officiating. Interment will follow to Plainview Cemetery. Funeral Services are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
Jose was born on December 22, 1944, to Jose Luis Munguia and Lorenza Salas Saenz in Edinburg, TX. Jose married the love of his life, Georgia Balli Patino, on September 14, 1963, in Plainview, Texas.
Jose began his career at National Life Insurance in the early 1960s, later devoting himself to sales and often traveling for business. He also worked for Casa Rica Tortilla Factory in Plainview, Frausto's Tortilla Factory in Kress and Motor Machine in Plainview. Throughout his life, he worked alongside his family, running video stores and game rooms in Plainview, Seth Ward, and Lockney. Jose cherished BBQs with family, bringing loved ones together with warmth and laughter. His dedication to Christianity shone through cherished Christmas traditions and the annual making of tamales. A true fan of classic westerns, he counted John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and James Arnez among his favorites. Jose also kept his mind sharp with daily crossword puzzles, always eager for a new challenge.
Those left to cherish Jose's memory are his sons, Joe "Gilbert" Patino and Julian Carl Patino of Plainview, TX, Joe David and wife Esmeralda San Miguel of Herford, TX; his brothers, Juan Luis Munguia and wife Carmen of St. Paul, MN, Adam Munguia and wife Erica of Rhode Island, Marcos Munguia of Florida; his sisters, Elma Benavidez of Toledo, OH, Mary Hinojosa of Perrysburg, OH, Anita Munguia of Toledo, OH, Mary Salinas of Alice, TX. his grandchildren, Joe David San Miguel III, Jacob San Miguel, Joshua Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Ashley San Miguel, Angelique Cano, Sergio McDonald and Maranda Dyer; two great-grandchildren; numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Gregorgia Balli Patino; his daughter, Alice McDonald; his son, Saul Patino; his parents, Prajediz Patino and Pomposa Ozuna Patino. his father, Jose Luis Munguia and wife, Olivia Gomez Munguia; his mother, Lorenza Salas Saenz and husband Octavio Saenz; his brothers and sisters, Norma Wall, Ray Munguia, Robert Munguia and Roberto Muniz.
