Johnny Curry Jr., 70, passed away and met his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. A visitation will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview, TX with Kim Hayes officiating and Neil Billingsley presenting the prayer. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, TX.

Johnny Curry Jr. was born on January 30, 1954, in Lockney, Texas, to Johnny Curry Sr. and Barbara Curry.

Mr. Curry had a lifelong passion for Western films and treasured the moments he spent with family and friends. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching games during his free time. Most of his professional career was dedicated to truck driving, which he appreciated for the freedom it offered on the open road. Additionally, he was baptized at the Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview, highlighting his commitment to his faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Curry Sr.; his sisters, Laurita Wall and Tanya Coleman; his niece, Katrina Wall; and his grandparents, Willie Carreathers and Florine Carreathers.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Barbara A. Carreathers Curry, of Plainview, TX; his sisters, LaJuana Curry of Plainview, TX, Kathy Curry of Lubbock, TX, Verlonda Curry of McGregor, TX, Sonja Curry of Houston, TX, and Kim Curry of Houston, TX; and his brothers, Thomas Curry Sr. of Plainview, TX, and Michael Curry of Houston, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
