Johnnie Mae Shivers, 75, of Plainview, passed away on December 10, 2020. Graveside services will be held Saturday. December 19, 2020 at Plainview Memorial Park at 11 a.m. A public visitation will take place at Bartley Funeral home Friday, December 18, 2020 from 6-7.
Johnnie Mae Shivers was born on December 13, 1944 to Johnnie Lee Owens and James Petty. She was raised in Plainview and lived there till 2014. She moved to Lubbock in 2014 until her passing. She attended SPC to receive her CNA and attended Wayland. She served as a minister for 40 Plus years. Johnnie aka Jon, Jine, granny, grandma, G, GiGi was a loving wife to her husband Earnest (deceased). She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a God-fearing woman, a mother to everyone and sowed seeds everywhere she went.
She is survived by her 4 daughters Jacqueline Shivers, Cynthia McNutt (Jeff), Mary Shivers and Martha Shivers all from Lubbock, Tx. 2 sons Melvin Shivers (Joann) Plainview, Tx and Rodney Shivers (Nicole) Hereford, Tx. She leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Proceeded in death husband Earnest Shivers Jr, Mother Johnnie Lee Owens, Father James Petty, Son Ronnie Petty and Grandmother Mattie Martha Reed. 4 brothers Lewis Owens, Bobby Acy, Randy Owens and Floyd Owens.
