Church Services for Alan Grimland, 64, of Silverton will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2017  at the First Baptist Church in Silverton with Pastor Rance Young officiating and Pastor G.J. Walton assisting. Interment will follow at Silverton Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Silverton.  Mr. Grimland passed from this life on August 11, 2017 in Silverton.

Alan was born on November 30, 1952 in Tulia, Texas to Jesse James and Doris Maxine (Dillard) Grimland. He worked as a mechanic on farm equipment and also in the oil field as a mechanic.

Alan loved going to gamble, riding his ATV, target practice, enjoyed visiting with his friends and family while sharing a cold one, also watching western movies. He was a very likeable person to be around.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister; Connie Davis and husband Jim of Silverton, nieces and nephews; Jesse Henderson, Jeremiah Henderson, Jeffrey Grimland, Jennifer Garrison, Allison Tipton and Kevin Duncan; his great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Jesse James and Doris Maxine Grimland, his brother; Terry Grimland, and his daughter; Regina Diane Grimland.
